One-of-a-kind mixed-media sacred heart art!
Hope Sacred Heart
ABOUT THIS PIECE:
This is a heart shaped, mixed-media piece and is made up of several components that include: a wood heart, a bisque heart, laser cut wood pieces, metal embellishments, resin/polymer clay roses, red bead charms, glass leaves and 21 xacto blades and a metal embellishment that reads, "Hope".
What makes this piece special is that this is a collaboration between myself and The Crafty Chica, Kathy Cano-Murrillo. She is a powerhouse in the world of arts, crafts and glitter! I was thrilled, honored and excited to collaborate with her! To learn more about her, please click HERE. The bisque sacred heart I received from her and she had already hydro dipped the entire piece (the multi-colored portion of the bisque heart that you see; to learn more on this technique, click HERE) and the rest was left up to me to do with what I wanted. At this point, I took over and painted the flames, and the two outer borders in my style (with acrylic/metallic paint) and mounted it to a larger, wood heart. The entire piece was then varnished with a satin finish and all of the elements were securely mounted to the piece. I love the way it turned out!
The measurements are approximately 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 2 1/4" (at highest, widest and deepest points). The back of the piece has been painted a solid color and has been varnished with the same satin finish. The heart has a nice weight to it, includes a sawtooth hanger on the back and it's ready to hang. The colors are clear, vivid and accent each other nicely! I've initialed and dated this piece on the back.
This sacred heart is colorful, lively and looks even better in person!
