ABOUT THIS PIECE:
Celebrating Dia de los Muertos with this piece!
This is a larger mixed-media piece than I normally create, and it's made up of several components that include: two large wood heart plaques, a carved wood sacred heart, a custom laser cut wood sugar skull, custom laser cut wood butterflies and several carved wood pieces. It's been embellished with resin roses/flowers, polymer clay leaves, upholstery tacks, silver-toned butterflies and a metal thought token that reads, "Live In The Moment". The entire piece has been painted with acrylic/metallic paint, has been varnished with a satin finish and all of the elements have been securely mounted to the piece.
The measurements are approximately 18" x 18" x 2" (at the highest, widest and deepest points). The back of the piece has been painted a solid color and has been varnished with the same satin finish. The piece is a nice weight and includes hanging wire on the back; it's ready to hang. The colors are clear, vivid and accent each other nicely! I've initialed and dated this piece on the back.
This Dia de los Muertos piece is very colorful, lively and looks even better in person!
